  1. You have captured an etherial beauty there Coline. That name immediately reminded me of a parachute landing in June of 1944 coordinated with the beach landings of D-day... Funny how a name will stick with you.

  2. This was exactly where the invasion started with an airborne landing. One poor guy, John Steele I think, got caught up with his parachute on the roof decoration of this church and is today memorialised with a hanging statue and a smart restaurant in the town if you are feeling peckish...
